Priya Menon is a Professor and Head of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, where she leads the RF & Embedded Systems Laboratory. Her work sits at the intersection of radio-frequency hardware and machine intelligence — building sensing systems that are small enough to wear and smart enough to trust. Over a seventeen-year career spanning academia and industry research, she has supervised eleven doctoral scholars and directed nine externally funded projects in wireless health monitoring and low-power communication.
Before joining academia, she spent four years as a design engineer at a semiconductor research lab, an experience that continues to shape her preference for research that ends in a working prototype rather than a paper alone. She currently serves as an associate editor for two IEEE transactions journals and reviews regularly for international conferences in her field.
She teaches courses in RF circuit design, embedded systems and signal processing, and is a strong advocate for bringing undergraduate students into funded research early in their degree.
